I'm a huge fan of Middle Eastern food and have been for years. Whenever I get back to the east side I try to stop at this place to pick up what I feel, is the best Lebanese food you can find anywhere. If your like Kibbee, especially kibbee nayee ( raw ground lamb with bulgar wheat, spices and onion) along with the fried kibbee (balls or sheet) you will find it here. Their stuffed grape leaves are among the best I've tasted anywhere. When it comes to meat pies, again, there are none any better. Be sure to buy a package of their fresh Syrian bread while your there. If I could find a way to have their food delivered instead of making the 60 mile round trip I'd certainly do it. I don't give out many 5 star reviews unless an establishment or food is excellent and Emily's deli warrants 5 stars without a doubt.

Great meat pies and super service. I really love ordering here for catering or just to get a fix of comfort food.

I've been eating Emily's meat pies since I was a kid. Such a treat. I've tried Lebanese food but nothing compares. The family run business is great at accommodating special orders as well. I'd highly recommend the traditional meat pies and if you want to spoil yourself, get some babaganoos.

This is the best Lebanese Deli in Southeastern Michigan! Even though it takes almost an hour to get there from home, we've been visiting him for over 25 years and love everything they make... especially the meat fatayer, raw kibbee nayyeh, and kousa! As for Sam... he has a heart of gold who loves his customers! Yes he throws around f' bombs, but it's all in jest. It's him! For those who are offended... it's like going to "Ed Debevic's in Chicago and getting your feelings hurt because the waitress was "rude" to you... when in fact it's all part of the experience! Thank you Sam for all you and your family have done to bring authentic Lebanese food to those of us lucky enough to have found you!

I bought a bunch of food from Emily's for an open house I was hosting. (I am a real estate agent.) I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews on here, but I was short on time and Emily's is pretty close to where I live. I bought three kinds of meat pies, hummus, grape leaves, baklava, pita bread and pita chips. I was prepared to deal with a very crabby person and pay exorbitant prices. And I was prepared not to like the food, especially since I was married to a Lebanese man and I can make pretty good hummus and grape leaves. Emily's son now runs the place. He was not crabby to me; in fact, he was pleasant and helpful. And the food was delicious. I especially loved the chicken meat pies, but all of them were great. The guests at my open house loved the food as well and gobbled up most of all of it. And the best part? I paid under $100 for all that food! I thought the cost was reasonable. And, I was thrilled that they are open 7 days a week, especially now, when so many restaurants are closed for 3 or 4 days a week. I was also impressed that I could walk in and order a large quantity of food at 5:00 pm on a Saturday evening without any hassle. I will definitely be returning to Emily's.

It's all great food!!! The family still serves with a smile an we've been coming here for many years!

Best food hands down! I've been going here since I was a baby. Sam makes you feel like family, just like Emily always did.

I love this place every time I come to Detroit. My wife got me hooked on this place. The Nyee is so good. My mouth always starts to water a week before the trip because it's so good and it's one of the first places we visit. The meat pies are also so delicious. The dough is good and the meat inside is always flavored so well and has a hint of lemon. The hummus is fresh and so smooth.

Well this place is good!!! My husband comes in to buy the meat pies, spinage pies and hummus. I go in to by the Tahini for the Chichi beans to make the hummus and to buy the grape leaves to make stuffed grape leaves. This is the place to go if you want traditional ingredients to make your amazing traditional Middle Eastern cuisine... I want to remind you that this is different than Greek spinach pies are not like Greek spinach pies where they're loaded with feta cheese they are pretty plain which is spinach and a little bit of lemon...also the pita is different from Greek pita...the pita here is very thin and you can split apart to make a sandwich where at a Greek restaurant or Greek food store their Pita is very thick and is used for making their Gyros. I also wanted to mention their cookies are simply Divine hear! they also sell the ingredients to make them. Located on the very bottom shelf below the grape leaves. This place compared to other Middle Eastern Deli and grocery stores is a little bit pricey but worth it and it's convenient because it's right in the area.
